Description: Elegant mahogany shield back dining chairs sold by the piece. Sweetheart dining room chairs in solid mahogany. Custom hand carved from solid mahogany these chairs are a scaled up version of a earlier Schmeig and Kotzian chair from early 20th century. Made slightly taller and wider they are more in keeping with 21st Century styling. The extra height allows more of the carving in the back splat to be visible when the chairs are placed around the table and makes them more comfortable. With stretchers fitted in the bases they provide tremendous support and help to keep the chair solid even with daily use.  Color is medium mahogany, which is a very delicate balance between brown mahogany and cherry. Picture colors are very accurate.  Shield back dining room chairs built exclusive for antiquepurveyor store and can not be found anywhere else.  Very heavy, sturdy and rock solid frames are perfect for todays newer tables.
