We are known for our success rate shipping furniture and compassionate customer service by customers nationwide.  But, if your a blanket wrap delivery company, we are known to be a pain in the bottom.  Shippers fret our stop, like a kids nerve a doctor's visit.
On every visit, a shipper will be tempted to pack our furniture with regular moving pads like everyone else. We do not do things like everyone else here.  And, I can promise that a simple blanket, would not save a piece of furniture from being damaged from a likely bump in travel.  In every shipping situation, and each one is slightly different, the shipping job calls for discipline, time, material and each job  should be handled the right way and not the easy way.
This may all sound like hot air and of no interest to you as a reader, but if your trying to ship furniture, this is not a bunch of hot air.  It is the key to a successful delivery without damage.
On every shipping day in our warehouse, managers steer shippers in the right direction and stand up for our customers furniture and for our assets on the road to properly prepare the furniture for the highway.
We strictly enforce a 7 year old policy here. Our way, or the high way.  Packing is not open for discussion and for every one time a shipper try's to cut corners with packing, there is a counter effort from our team to do it the right way.  Here are some pictures fwhich may help you shipping furniture on your own.

This first picture shows perimeter table leaves, packed face to face, rolled in moving pads and skinned with corrugation.  Perimeter table leaves can be sensitive on the edges, so having them bundled in pads and corrugation allows terminals and drivers to stand the leaves on edge with virtually no chance of damage.  The gentleman in this first picture is our favorite Plycon packer.  I ask for him by name. Don't let his long hair fool you. He is one packer who does not need to be watched over.

Next picture shows the top of a china cabinet wrapped in a similar way, This time, the corrugation prevents the glass from being broken.  This cabinet almost went on the truck without labeling the face "GLASS"   This package was stopped and labeled with a heavy 1" black sharpie before it was loaded into the truck.   Antiquepurveyor.com shipping stickers were also added.  Our 'brand name' labels work better than 'Fragile' stickers. Trucking terminals and warehouse guys recognize our merchandise now.  When shipping furniture, make your package stand out and expect the worse handling and safeguard your goods.

A blanket will not be good enough for shipping high end furniture across country. We cover our tables with ply paper, edging, 1" EPS (Styrofoam) and than moving pads and blankets hold it all together with help of shrink wrap.  These tables will ride safely now, whether on the back of the truck or under the truck!  Check out our shipping page to see more packing materials.
