Hepplewhite antique reproduction tall back dining chairs in solid mahogany. Heavy and strong frames with inlaid bell flowers.  High-end chairs are finely built but structurally sound and sturdy.  Some folks call this style chair “sweetheart shield back dining chairs” because the backs have a heart shape.  These antique-style dining room chairs were, until today, nearly impossible to find in exceptional shape.  True Hepplewhite period chairs in this style are usually found in incomplete sets and the frames are weak and need restoration work.  We bring these inlaid Hepplewhite chairs to market for those who have been looking for this style for a long time and have not successfully found a great set. Unlike the original antiques, our Hepplewhite chairs for sale are tall back chairs.  The vintage chairs of this style were much shorter, and these newer chairs will stand up nicely along today’s larger-sized tables. These antique reproduction chairs have a Federal or Sheraton-style foot. These Sheraton dining chairs were made in the Philippines so the mahogany is very dense and heavy. These chairs are a great consideration for an active family and they will handle traffic well. The seats are slip seats and the fabric you see is not a final fabric.  The white fabric on this chair is an underlayment, also known as a muslin.  The seats are intended to be removed and upholstered with a finishing fabric.
