The expansive circular top features a richly figured flame mahogany field displaying dramatic natural grain movement, framed by a refined outer border accented with a black and white separator inlay that provides subtle contrast around the perimeter. The apron is distinguished by a finely carved feathered band, adding texture and decorative depth beneath the top while maintaining the table’s classical architectural character. The edge of the table is finished with a carefully reeded molding that visually echoes the reeded detailing found throughout the base. The table is supported by a sturdy birdcage pedestal construction, a traditional feature of high-quality pedestal dining tables that allows the top to be supported by multiple columns while maintaining stability. Four fluted saber legs extend gracefully from the central pedestal base, their curvature and fluting reflecting the classical neoclassical influence associated with Duncan Phyfe designs. The legs terminate in tarnished brass feet, providing both durability and a subtle decorative accent.
