Leather upholstered armchair with shaped back presenting a traditional European influenced form with a spade pieced back. The tall back is upholstered in rich brown leather and outlined with a continuous border of brass nailhead trim that follows the shaped crest and side rails. At the center of the back a decorative pierced spade-shaped opening introduces a distinctive visual element while maintaining the strong vertical profile of the chair. The upholstered seat is generously proportioned and similarly trimmed with brass nailheads along the seat rail. Shaped wooden arms sweep outward in a gentle curve and terminate in scrolled handholds, supported by turned arm posts. The frame is constructed in wood with turned front legs and straight rear supports, joined by stretchers that reinforce the base structure. The chair is fitted with brass-capped casters, allowing it to move easily across flooring surfaces while preserving its traditional appearance. The combination of leather upholstery, nailhead detailing, and turned wooden supports creates a substantial armchair suitable for dining rooms, libraries, or study environments.
