These are new frames, and there design was inspired by a group of chairs which we sold at auction and on eBay about 5 years ago. The chair was so popular on that auction, that we decided to add this chair to our own line of repro furniture . It is now an exclusive chair offered by Antiquepurveyor.
Low back design chairs like this were very popular in the early 19th century and some people call this a Duncan Phyfe period chair or Adams period. The chairs have saber legs, and low backs. The backs are detailed with rosewood banding. The center of the splat has a pinwheel satinwood inlay. Seat cushions come off, and fabric can be changed in your home.
